Did you know a pilot's schedule during a week (or weekend) like this is crazy busy? With scheduled flights in the morning and evenings, plus briefings, and other commitments for the event, it's hard to find time to get something to eat. Many times the first chance could be after 10 pm.

But not here in Jackson! We want to thank our food sponsors for keeping these pilots and crew fed and happy!

Did you know that hot air balloons fly using propane? Therefore, be sure to thank Hammond Propane for helping us get those balloons off the ground! We couldn't do it without you!

You know what's almost worse than waking up to rai

You know what's almost worse than waking up to rain and not being able to fly? Cranky pilots who get 3 hours of "sleep" and there are zero donuts or coffee to make the morning a little more manageable. And trust me, no one likes a cranky pilot.

Flight status for Monday morning of US Women's National Balloon Championship

Due to weather conditions, there will be no flight activity on Monday. We are expecting rain all morning long.
Luckily, Monday is just a practice day for the competition and hopefully the sun comes back out Tuesday when the real fun begins.

As always, stay tuned to our social media and/or our mobile app for more flight status updates throughout the week and weekend.

Also, we are still in need of volunteers for scoring teams (you do not have to be available all week). I'll put some more information in the comments below.

WE NEED YOU!
Have you been told you're full of hot air? Are you already up at the crack of dawn? Do you want to see a night glow from the center of the field?
Come volunteer to help crew for a hot air balloon during the Hot Air Jubilee!
We need volunteer crew during the week of July 15th-19th, AND during the weekend from the 19th-21st. There are lots of different roles and tasks you can assist with AND you'll have a story to tell your friends.

If we get enough volunteers to sign up this week, we might be able to host a balloon crew training session next week to show you what this "crew" thing is all about.
